Fairytales and Feathers
Tour

PICTURE THIS
Your visit starts with a stroll down memory lane in Storybook Land and Land of Oz, with a trip through your childhood memories of the Mother Goose fables we all grew up with. Your visitors laugh and giggle as they start down the Yellow Brick Road, trying to guess which Mother Goose rhyme matches each exhibit. See cows and chickens fly through the air as your guests tour Dorothy's house, complete with tornado effects! A guided tour through Wylie Park on the miniature train makes this an enjoyable experience for young and old alike, especially for those that may have a harder time walking. Learn train history at the historic railroad depot.

Next, your guests continue with our "Feathers" theme with a picnic lunch of chicken and fixings served at Wylie Park's "Bird House". Once an aviary, the Bird House is an enclosed shelter which can accommodate up to 75 people.

Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge
Now it is on to enjoy all the wildlife experiences that can be found at Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge. As you travel to Sand Lake, be sure to keep a sharp eye out for our famous "Chinese Ring Necked Pheasant" that the area is so famous for. A step on guide to illuminate the history and species of birds and animals to be found at Sand Lake makes this a memorable experience. Ranked #15 in Wild Bird Magazine's top birding hot spots, your guests view a vast array of Wildlife.

Intrepid individuals climb the 108 foot observation tower to get a panoramic view of Sand Lake.

Now it is back to Aberdeen for a wonderful meal at one of our many fine restaurants. Your guests all visit about the fun day they have had as they retire to their rooms at one of Aberdeen's many hotels. After a good night's sleep, your group is ready for more. Now, that is a picture you would like to see, isn't it? "Our Fairytales and Feathers" tour, complete with a trip through Sleeping Beauty's Castle would make a great Grandparents/Grandchildren tour!
